Emergency Ride Home Program

Our Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program is available to all Assembly employees and residents!

To register for the ERH program, you have to claim the ERH incentive on TripConnect and complete the registration form. After you have completed the registration process, a new Emergency Ride Home program will appear in the Rewards area of your account. Participants must download the Lyft App to redeem an emergency ride home. Participants are credited with 300 points upon sign-up, enough for your first ride, and can earn up to 50 points every day for each non-drive-alone work trip logged. Participants can claim up to 6 rides per year.

 

How to redeem a voucher:

  1. Download the Lyft app for Apple or Andriod, and create an account. You will need to add your credit card information when creating a Lyft account, but you will not be billed for an Emergency Ride Home if you take an eligible trip.

  2. When you need to take a Lyft ride in case of an emergency, redeem a ride voucher at the bottom of this program.

  3. Tell us the nature of your emergency using the ERH request form

  4. Click the link to recieve a one time use code that you can enter into the Lyft app to redeem your ride!

Things that qualify as emergencies:

  • Mandated, unscheduled overtime*

  • Personal emergency for you or someone you care for

  • Personal illness or illness of someone you care for

  • Unexpected change to your carpool or vanpool schedule**

  • Damage to your bicycle preventing you to use it to get home

    *For unscheduled overtime, if your regular commute mode is transit travel, transit must not be available within 30 minutes of your departure time.

    ** In the case of a carpool, passengers are eligible to use the ERH program if the carpool driver is unavailable to provide a ride home for the above-mentioned reasons. In the case of a vanpool driver, the back-up driver will drive the vanpool and the driver may access the ERH.

Things that do not qualify as emergencies:

  • Travel from home to work

  • Voluntary overtime

  • Inclement weather or city/state/national emergencies

  • MBTA service failure

  • After hour work celebrations

  • Scheduled meetings, scheduled overtime, or pre-scheduled events taking place after normal business hours

  • Building evacuations

If the ERH trip does not comply with the above terms and conditions, the fee for the ride will be charged to your personal Lyft account. Repeat incidents of inappropriate use of the ERH program may result in suspension of your ERH benefit. ERH vouchers will expire within 8 hours of entering it into the Lyft app. Participants will start the new year with one voucher.
